Eight compositions.
Each one an intention.

Where scent becomes identity. Composed in Grasse, bottled in Lagos.

Keive & Co is a fragrance house. Every fragrance we make begins as an intention — a specific feeling we believed was worth making permanent.

We are a small house. Six people, split between two cities. We compose in Grasse and bottle in Lagos. We make eight perfumes, and we have no plan to make a ninth this year. We do not call this restraint. We call it the work.

The first composition, Origine Nº1, took four years and forty-one revisions. We had no investors and no deadline; we made forty drafts that were not quite right and then we made one that was. That bottle is the one we sell. The other seven, including the two body forms and the candle, came afterward — slower than the market would have liked, faster than we thought possible.

What we believe

That a perfume is not a top note. That trying it on paper is a waste of paper. That a fragrance announces itself in the second hour, not the second minute. That high concentration is only useful if the composition behind it is worth concentrating.

That intention is a better organizing principle than season. That the bottle is the least interesting thing in the photograph. That the description should be long, because the wearer reads.

"A good perfume is a thing you live with. It changes on the skin. It is, slowly, you."

The supply chain

Our raw materials come from named places: Tunisian neroli, Haitian vetiver, Tuscan iris, Mysore sandalwood, Omani frankincense. We pay our perfumers in Grasse direct and on time. The bottles are filled by hand in our Lagos studio, six days a week. Refill is part of the design — return any empty Keive bottle to the studio and we will refill it at thirty percent off.

The team

Six people. Two perfumers in Grasse, three in Lagos, one between. We will not be the brand with seventy bottles. We want to make eight, and to have each of them be the one you finish.
